What better on a wet Saturday. Shipton Quilters at a bag workshop!

Friday, 30 August 2019

Shipton Quilters are thrilled that one of the group's most talented quilters, Sue Watters, has won best traditional quilt at the West Country & Textile Show.  Well done Sue.  There are lots of lovely quilts to see in addition to Sue's and that includes the Group's Quilt which will be raffled at our 14th Exhibition on the 4th and 5th April 2020.

....and while we're on exhibitions remember to visit Woodmancote Village Hall this weekend to see another one of our talented quilters, Vanessa Reynolds, displaying an amazing selection of quilts raising funds for charity, The Butterfly Garden and Maggies.  See you there.

Butterfly Garden Quilt Exhibition

Vanessa Reynolds is one of the amazing members of the Shipton Quilters Group. She is putting on a one woman show with over 100 quilts she has made. Vanessa is very skilled and very modest with it, her reason for the show is to raise funds for the Butterfly Garden Project a scheme to help disabled people based on gardening in Cheltenham and also to raise funds for Maggies Cheltenham who provide valuable support for cancer sufferers and their families in the local area. Vanessa will be raffling 6 quilts as part of the fund raising. If you are looking for something to do on the last weekend in August (31 Aug and 1 Sept) please come to Woodmancote Village Hall to Vanessa's show, you will see some fantastic quilts and help support two very worthy causes in the Butterfly Garden and Maggies Cheltenham. You can find out more about the Butterfly Garden here http://www.thebutterflygarden.org  and more about Maggies Cheltenham here https://www.maggiescentres.org/our-centres/maggies-cheltenham/

Charity Fund Raising Quilt
