I am going to just post up photos over the coming week just to give you a little taste of our work.

Day 1 Shipton Quilters

Jenny on the Left  and Mary our very own Land Army girls

Posted by Picasa

The first day of our quilt show was very very busy indeed and look what we have here! Our very own Land Army Girls.
Jenny on the left made the quilt to commemorate her mothers time in the WOMENS LAND ARMY in World War 2. So that was the theme for the room that they decorated at the exhibition.
Mary and Jenny have gone to so much effort with their room. Farm implements , sacks of potatoes an old scare crow watching the proceedings, Gas masks, strings of old Union Jacks, books about the role the Land Army girls played in the war,We even had Vera Lynn singing - Will Meet Again.
To top it all they even dressed in the genuine article of clothing - A lot of elderly people passed through and one had been in the Land Army so it bought back plenty of memories for her and bought plenty of smiles from us all.

Thanks Jenny and Mary for making it even more of fun day.

Now We Really Are On Count Down

Sue's Goose in the Pond.

Only  5 days to go before the start of our Exhibition. I know everyone has been really busy  putting on those last minute details like sleeves and bindings to their quilts.

Room sets have been designed, Props requisitioned more quilt frames made by Scott, Jenny's wonderful helpful husband. Thanks Scott we couldn't do it without you. I think you should become an honourer member of Shipton Quilter's
Now all that is left to do is set up on Friday for the our opening on the 16th and 17th April at Rendcomb College. Nr Cirencester.

We can do more than ask you to come and see what we have been up to over the past 3 years and to buy raffle tickets to support HELP FOR HEROES which is such a worthy charity.

Hope to see you there.
